A 3-Part Virtual Trauma-Informed Workshop for Muslim Women.

Exclusively for Muslim women, this free, 3-part workshop teaches you how stress impacts your body, mental health, and relationships. Discover how certain Islamic practices help reduce stress, and how you can increase your resilience with additional tools and resources.

With The Resilience Toolkit, you’ll discover how to safely and quickly relax when triggered by stressful situations, making it easier to meet the day-to-day challenges of life.

Connect with other Muslimahs in your community in this safe, inclusive space and open yourself up to a greater sense of joy and wholeness.

The Resilience Toolkit is meant for all body types and is easily adaptable for any fitness level or mobility challenge. After completing The Resilience Toolkit, you can practice it on your own, whenever you need it!

Facilitators:

Desiree F. Magsombol JD, (she/her) is a Certified Facilitator of The Resilience Toolkit, a TRE (Tension/Trauma Release Exercise) Provider, and the newest member of Masjid Al-Shareef of Long Beach’s Board of Directors. Working with, living in, and being a part of communities with high levels of stress and trauma and limited access to mainstream tools, Desiree is committed to making multi-modality tools of resilience accessible to all individuals, organizations, and communities.

Gia Hasan (she/they) is a Certified Facilitator of the Resilience Toolkit, a leadership coach, a meditation instructor, and works in clinical and functional nutrition. She works with populations experiencing chronic pain, and chronic disease, and works across sectors designing school and after-school programs for youth, and working with survivors of sexual abuse. She uses a whole-person, whole systems-framework in coaching leaders and executives to invite in new, more inclusive and liberative visions on the micro and meso scale. Using the principles of trauma-informed care, Gia aims to create containers for her clients to explore the complex intersections of our human experience.
