Compassion Resilience for Humans

Compassion Resilience for Humans

Compassion Resilience is the power to return to a position of empathy, strength, and hope after the daily experience of whatever challenges we may face. It is the ability to maintain our physical, emotional and mental well-being while responding compassionately to people who are suffering. It allows us to be able to find optimism in an imperfect world. Compassion Fatigue may be experienced by people who are helpers in their work and/or personal life. Those "at risk" include individuals working in health and human services, education, parents and human beings who care for others.

This course will be provided in one-hour weekly sessions for 10 weeks. Topics to be covered include:

  • Practicing Self-Compassion
  • Compassionate Action Steps
  • The Compassion Fatigue Cycle
  • Drivers of Compassion Fatigue
  • Setting Expectations for Ourselves and Others
  • The Locus of Control
  • Compassionate Boundary Setting
  • Wellness and Resilience Strategies
  • Building Compassion-Based Partnerships

Session Dates: We will meet weekly for 10 weeks, one hour each week, starting on March 1st and ending on May 3rd.

In addition to weekly sessions, attendees will have access to online content and resources as well as opportunities to connect with one another between sessions.

We are offering a limited number of seats to provide for connection and conversation.
