Children's Advocacy Center: Child Sexual Abuse- Making the Connection (Case Study)

Virtual

Hosted by Central Florida's Children's Advocacy Center, a Case Summary:
The OCSO and the FDLE had several investigations regarding child sexual abuse/exploitation of a female child while in the care of her guardian. The familial relation of this caregiver was questionable but without information from the child or any identifiable family member(s), the child was placed
and remained with the male guardian after a multitude of allegations were received by the DCF. Multiple attempts at interviewing the child resulting with negative findings, as the child never disclosed anything of concern.
In 2019, the child gave birth to a baby, and this was when the synergy of partnered agencies came into play, solving not only the case but ensuring this child, and her own child's, safety.

Det. Luker and Katie Masters (CPT Case Coordinator) will discuss the details of the above case and demonstrate the impact of working together as a multi-disciplinary team.
