Dr. Cornel West will join CalEndow Live on February 16 for a special Black History Month program moderated by Dr. Robert K. Ross, President and CEO of The California Endowment. Dr. West will share memories of his upbringing in Sacramento and describe how the lessons he learned at Shiloh Baptist Church shaped his values and philosophy of life.
In this hourlong conversation, Dr. West and Dr. Ross will reflect on the meaning of Black History Month and the leaders who inspire them today. They will take questions from our live virtual audience, on subjects ranging from ancient philosophy to the latest trends in hip-hop. Dr. West will also discuss the urgent demand for empathy and the self-care practices that help him stay optimistic, even in challenging times.
