Hi all-
Thanks to all that attended our January meeting of Yolo ACEs Connection and special thanks to Jane Stevens who did fabulous presentation on ACEs for us. I promise that the notes from the meeting will be published in the Meeting Notes section of the "Collections" shortly!
We are making some good progress here in Yolo and I wanted to highlight a few things happening soon:
- TONIGHT (Tues. Feb 3rd) Tracy Fauver from Yolo CASA will be presenting at the Davis JUSD Engagement Night on ACEs and resiliency in kids (sorry Tracy, cant remember the exact title). For those with kiddos in DJUSD, come out to support her!
- TOMORROW (Weds Feb 4th) Jane and I will be meeting with the DJUSD Superintendent, Winfred Robeson.
- Thursday Feb. 5th morning Jane will be presenting ACEs 101 to the Yolo County Children's Alliance
- And Thurs or Friday Jane and I will be meeting with Robb Davis, Mayor Pro Tem of Davis
Busy week!
A couple of questions - please let me know your thoughts:
1. Anyone else have any upcoming presentations on trauma informed care/ ACEs - if so, please tell us!
2. Would folks be interested in materials that can be printed to inform folks about our Yolo ACEs efforts? Either to pass out at a presentation or to pass along when you are speaking with folks about ACEs? If so, we can discuss at our next meeting (Friday, Feb 20th).
3. I have recently gotten some books on trauma and wonder if folks would be interested in starting a Lending Library? I can bring the books I currently have (B van der Kolk's "The Body Keeps the Score..." and L van Dernoot Lipsky's "Trauma Stewardship").
