A Trauma-Informed Approach: Three Myths Busted on 9/9

10am on September 9

Amidst all of the trauma in the world, the time for a paradigm shift is now. Join Origins Training & Consulting for an overview of what a trauma-informed approach is (and what it isn’t!) and how you can apply these concepts in your setting. Whether you have just learned about ACEs, toxic stress, and the impact of trauma or have been using this approach for years, this one-hour interactive session will give you information and tools to help lead resilience in your organization or community. As part of this, you will explore the role of culture in a trauma-informed approach and work through an exercise to help you create and sustain a resilient culture. Andi Fetzner, PsyD, and Lori Chelius, MBA/MPH, (co-founders of Origins) will focus on busting three myths many people have about what a trauma-informed approach is and how you can be a resilience champion.

“Finding Quality and Growing Equity in Unexpected Places” an Annual Conference Special Rebroadcasting on 9/10

10am on September 10

In efforts to promote equitable access to programs and services for young children and families, we use concepts and measures of quality that rely heavily on the “counting” of both material and professional resources (e.g., facility and curricula, degrees and credentials). However, looking for high quality practices in unexpected places – with people and in communities whose limited access to such resources necessities human resourcefulness – reminds us to dive deeper and discover what really “counts” about the human capacity to care. To nurture and grow such potential is the important task in our quest for quality with equity. This webinar is from ZERO TO THREE.

Advancing a Family-Centered Community Health System: A Community Agenda Focused on Child Health Care, Foundational Relationships, and Equity on 9/22

10am on September 22

A family-centered community health system (FCCHS) is the organization of people, institutions, and resources in a specific geographic area that deliver health care and other health-influencing services. In an FCCHS, services are delivered in new ways that build partnerships between providers and families; that are organized in a coordinated network; that work to dismantle historical and structural racism; that promote community-wide supports for foundational relationships and early relational health; and that make visible high-performing medical home and team based care practices; all of which are effectively coordinated with community supports and networks. This webinar will discuss the elements of the FCCHS that when adopted and coordinated, can drive transformation at the system, community, and policy levels and bring forward commentaries from thought leaders and advocates.
