Follow-up scans found that positive brain changes related to self-regulation were still present in adulthood.

Scientists studied the characteristics of rumors and rumor victims in early adolescence in a longitudinal study of 300 youth between fifth and seventh grade. Results found that the characteristics of rumors tended to be gender specific. Experts say that it’s important to talk to your kids about how rumors can be harmful.
