After Jen Caldwell from San Francisco Joint Unified School District (JUSD) came to Yolo County last May to present on trauma-informed schools in San Francisco to Davis JUSD counselors and district staff and then went to Woodland to meet with WJUSD district staff, there has been movement under foot to bring more training about Trauma-informed schools to Yolo. For the 2015-16 school year, we are thrilled to announce that Yolo County will be able to send 10 school staff (representing all the Yolo school districts) to San Francisco for training on trauma-informed schools. We are also exploring other creative options to help support all schools here in Yolo County. As we more further articulate our plan for this Fall, we will keep everyone updated.
