RESOURCES FOR CLIENTS for free legal assistance and on self-care

·        Free legal assistance: Voluntary Legal Services Program of Northern California is a volunteer-based “pro bono” legal aid program that provides free assistance with civil and legal matters to low income clients living in the Sacramento region (Yolo, Sacramento, San Joaquin, El Dorado and Placer counties). Voluntary Legal Services Program is still open and is accepting calls regarding unemployment insurance benefits, bankruptcy and debt collection defense, guardianship and conservatorship, probate and small estate advice, and family law. Have clients call 916-551-2102 for help.

·        Free Naturalization Clinic: Attorneys, law clerks, and interpreters from Legal Services of Northern California offer FREE assistance with citizenship applications to Lawful Permanent Residents (green card holders) residing in Yolo and Colusa Counties. Please see the attached flyers in English and Spanish for more information. Clients can call 530-662-1065 for more information.

·        Self-Care Tools for Pediatrics and Adults: Check out the ACEs Aware self-care tools for pediatrics (i.e., families) and adults to help your patients set goals to manage stress response. Healthy nutrition, regular exercise, restful sleep, practicing mindfulness, building social connections, and getting mental health support can help decrease stress hormones and improve health.
