Lori- There is a new 6-week online training program to for training on trauma informed and resilience principles from Origins Training and Consulting. WELLTOPIA

Welltopia is a community level source for resources.  It is found on our Resilient Yolo home page here:  http://mywelltopia.com/yolo/about-us/

We need to create a “share campaign” to promote the services so it can be shown to have traffic by the end of the calendar year.  Regan suggested that all providers make it a standard referral and commit to posting it on Facebook.

**Gail – will talk with Rachel Robins about creating a little image and blurb to email out to everyone and tag community partners.

** ALL - Here is a blurb of what we can all post

Welltopia is a place where you can connect directly to credible resources that empower healthy personal, family, and community development. Find your way to whole-hearted living and wellness. mywelltopia.com/yolo/about-us/

RESILIENT READS

This would be a program through the library system with a possible partnership with Herspace downtown.  Libraries can have a shelf called Resilient Reads with questions for discussion.  We can promote sponsorship or partnership with the library and other organizations.

Criteria for books on this list are:

1) Uplifting/Inspirational

2) Provides concrete examples (not just theoretical)

3) Broad audience appeal

4) Diversity of authors and perspective. Ex. awareness of privilege and culture.

This would be a quarterly program and matched with a Resilient Yolo discussion and with direction to Welltopia and Resilient Yolo’s website.

HIGHLIGHTS from BUILDING A RESILIENT YOLO SUMMIT

  • Presentations about ACEs science information will go on the road to Amador County (Tracy and Gail!)
  • The Barber Shop Forum- a monthly forum with law enforcement and community members in the Bay Area.
  • World Café leftover coffee and lemonade was taken to 4th and Hope. A car was filled with food and upon arrival they were warmly greeted and stayed to talk for 1 hour about the summit.
  • The youth presence was tremendous. Youth were energized and excited about promoting education and resiliency. The youth suggested utilizing the bowling alley for events.

We can build on this last item and get students to attend our Resilient Yolo meeting to get feedback.  We can tap into students at the Independent Learning Center at Pioneer High school because they have flex schedules and might be available to meet.  We can ask these students about the Resilient Reads books.  Also, we can create a subgroup and meet with them at their location.

This brings up the issue of youth not having a safe public place. We need to find out what is out there and available and what is going on.  And we need to support what is already existing.  Our youth need to have a safe place.  Gail, Cara and Regan will meet as a sub-group on ways to engage with youth.

Can we post something on Resilient Yolo and release the notes from the World Cafes and other summit feedback on our website?

TRAUMA INFORMAED ORGANIZATIONS SURVEY

Gail gave a review of the data reflecting indicators (Initiatives, presentations, surveys, etc) and the Milestones Map.  Found on the Resilient Yolo home page and HERE: https://acesconnection.shinyapps.io/yolo/

** ALL – should complete/update surveys so we can see where we are presenting for our next meeting.

** Gail – will send out 2 surveys to everyone.  1st will be Presentations / 2nd will be organizations on their way to being trauma informed.

It was suggested that we add a case study option with testimonials to make sure organizations that say they are trauma informed really are. (ex. Healthcare sometimes says they are, but they are not)

(Note; Lucy said there is a presentation in Spanish. ?? )

T-SHIRTS

These are still available at $13.75 each. There are L and XL available in black and in both woman’s and unisex styles.
