Recruiting out of school youth to participate in Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA)

 

Things are getting busy again with the WIOA team! We have exited 30
individuals from the 2017-2018 program year and are beginning to enroll new
participants for the 2018-2019 year. We are mainly looking for Out of School
Youth at this time, as we have many more spots available than for those that
are in school.  The eligibility requirements are as followed.

First, the individual must:
1)     Be a Yolo County Resident (Residing in West Sac, Davis or Clarksburg)
2)     Not Currently Enrolled in School (Adult education is ok)
3)     16-24 years old
4)     Have a Photo ID and Social Security Card

The individual must also have at least one of the following barriers:
1)     Dropped out of school
2)     Experience in the Justice System
3)     Pregnant or parenting (Men and Women)
4)     Have a documented disability (IEP/504 Plan)
5)     In or aged out of Foster Care
6)     Homeless

***Income verification (paystubs) for the last 6 months are required for
everyone that lives in the household and must meet low income requirements
set by the County ***  (This is NOT required for Homeless, Foster youth or those with disabilities)

We are also currently accepting applications for a Youth Employment
Specialist who will help assist me with all things WIOA!  See the link below
