OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUTH: WIOA Employment Program is seeking to enroll youth for 2020-21!

The WIOA team is in the process of gathering names of interested youth for the 2020-2021 program year! Once enrolled, most youth will be placed in a paid work experience for up to 300 hours with a local business. Training programs in select fields are also available through HHSA. Support with career readiness, interview prep, resumes, job applications, educational goals and other supportive services may be available to those that qualify. Due to lack of in person outreach at this time, word of mouth is going to be very important in recruiting youth for our program. Any assistance that you can provide would be greatly appreciated! Please contact Eric Blair (Eric.Blair@yolocounty.org) with any questions.

1)  Youth outreach: We are mainly looking for "out of school" youth at this time (i.e., not enrolled in high school or college classes). Please see the attached flyer for more information. Please call or email if you have questions or need more information.

2)  Worksite outreach: Because of business closures and Staff cuts in result of Covid-19, we are in need of more worksite options for youth placement. If you know of any businesses that may be interested in working with our youth or learning more about the WIOA program, please share Eric’s information. Please note that youth are considered "extra help" and should not be taking any existing employees hours, cannot supplement for laid off employees, and youth must be supervised at all times.

3) Covid-19 Related Support through HHSA: Yolo County HHSA's Adult WIOA program received funding for those affected by Covid-19 that are 18 years of age and older. See the included flyer attached with this email for qualifications. For more information please contact HHSA by calling the number/email provided on the flyer.
