Summary of discussion:
- The group felt that we needed to hear an overview of ACEs. We hope that Jane can give her presentation at the next ACEs Connection meeting (Jan. 16th). This will help group members to feel more conversant in this topic to speak with others about ACEs and also will help us all identify potential other individuals/ organizations to reach out to.
ACTION- Jane will speak at Jan ACEs Meeting
- On-going list of potential presentations / opportunities to advertise about ACEs
- An article or series of articles in the Davis Enterprise. We thought even a series focusing on different areas/organizations that is/ could be working to become trauma-informed – Anna to f/u with reporter (A Ternus Bellamy)
- Would it be possible to create a videotape of Jane doing a presentation? - Apr 21st - ACESs presentation at First 5 Yolo workshop “Family Focus Forum” with Jane and Anna to present. Regan will help coordinate this.
- Presentation to Yolo Co departments (health, social services, mental health)– question if it makes sense to have smaller presentations to different departments or to schedule a ½ day meeting with various departments to bring them together
- Other groups to reach out to:
- Yolo Children’s Alliance (Katie Kim Golberg)
- Yolo Family Services Agency – Anna to speak with Anina Sanchez to coordinate outreach
- Empower Yolo
- childcare providers (Regan was to reach out to that group)
- Parent University (Davis parents) – Gail to reach out
- Logistics
- We will continue meeting in Woodland on the second Friday 12-1:30pm for the next few meetings and raise this issue again if there is a better time/ place for the meeting
