We want to call this project, “Quaran-zine” and we’re working with a graphic designer to have an end-product that can be published-- electronically, and as a hard copy. Our intention behind this is to raise money- from zine sales- for those who have been most impacted by this pandemic in trans, POC, immigrant, sex worker, and LGBTQ communities. This zine is also a way for us to cultivate connection and creative community, as a response to the current climate that requires more isolation and social distancing, every day. It’s an opportunity for us to remember our common humanity; to come together through creativity and to honor joy, levity, abundance, and depth.
So send us your submissions! Send what resonates most with you and what you’re most proud of. This can be old work or you can use this as an opportunity to catalyze new work. Send us as many poems as you’d like and we’ll work with our graphic designer to compile a cohesive zine. If you know of any others- particularly from the trans, POC, immigrant, sex worker, and LGBTQ communities- who might like to contribute, feel free to pass this on.
