Description

Drs. Nancy and Paul Aikin are experts in the practice and teaching of Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples (EFT) and for families (EFFT). This CE program combines practical, concise instruction with video-taped & live examples to help clinicians apply principles of EFFT to their practice right away.

Emotionally focused family therapy is a model of practice based on  conceptualizations of family distress and love through an attachment lens. EFFT provides the clinician a highly effective roadmap to help families clarify emotional signals they send to one another, de-escalate, and move out of negative interactional patterns that threaten their experience of security and connectedness.

EFFT is collaborative and respectful of clients. It combines experiential techniques with structural systemic interventions. Key moves and moments in the change process have been mapped. Using a combination of didactic and experiential material, Paul & Nancy will cover  basic principles of EFFT, including working with dyads, doing enactments and processing blocks to reaching for their children and responding from care-givers. Participants will have an opportunity to practice some of the key interventions that distinguish EFFT from all other approaches.

Event flyer is attached.
