Asian American Solidarity Vigil - Tonight at 7PM

We invite you to join us, masked and socially distanced, at the

Davis Phoenix Coalition’s Vigil
7:00pm, Friday, March 19
Solidarity Space, Central Park, 4th & D St, Davis

Come honor the lives of Delaina Ashley Yaun, Xiaojie Tan, Daoyou Feng, Paul Andre Michels, and the other victims.

We are sad beyond words. As we celebrated the resolutions affirming our community’s commitment to stand against anti-Asian hate and xenophobia, Asian lives were being taken.

This is why Black Lives Matter, this why ethnic studies is not indoctrination, this is why we fought for marriage equality and gender neutral bathrooms. This is where intolerance ends, with lives lost, with people dehumanized with basic rights inaccessible to our neighbors, coworkers and friends.
We call everyone to bear witness.. We will not tolerate hatred and bigotry towards people of color, and we will do everything we can to support and protect our AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) community members. We urge you to do the same. The Davis Phoenix Coalition  is calling on all of Davis to speak out in support of the AAPI community.

Please spread the word and invite your loved ones to join you.
Anti-Asian violence, xenophobia, and racism in the U.S. is not new.  We encourage everyone to become more educated about Asian American history and the current movement to end anti-Asian violence. We offer these resources as places to begin:
