The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a $1.9 billion budget for 2020-21 it says avoids layoffs while making investments in critical areas such as fire recovery, permanent supportive housing, COVID-19 response, and mental health and homeless services. The Board was faced with a projected $45.7 million revenue shortfall because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic downturn.
