The "Chicano Clinic" was founded 50 years ago when locals took over Neighborhood House to set up access to health care and it has grown at the core of Family Health Centers (now with 35+ sites) and a recently built a new huge multispecialty clinic in the neighborhood. Beyond Prevention: Building Wellness Systems (SDSU Social Policy Institute)

A new K2A has been developed that covers the need to build “Wellness Systems” throughout continued prevention efforts. The Social Policy Institute's Child Welfare/Wellness Systems team has been involved with Ventura County as well as San Diego County for several years on a journey that has contributed to both counties reimagining their Child Welfare Services work.
