CREDIBLE MESSENGERS TRANSFORM THE LIVES OF SAN DIEGO YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS ON PROBATION

SAY San Diego, in partnership with Paving Great Futures, Project AWARE, and Youth Empowerment, has launched a Central Region Resilience Community Mentoring Program to serve San Diego youth and young adults who are involved with the justice system.

This new initiative will provide 60 justice-involved youth and young adults (per year) with mentoring by adults who have lived-experience in the justice system, along with a series of skill-building workshops and enrichment activities that will lead to reduced recidivism. This powerful model will foster rehabilitation and resilience among youth and young adults on probation by using an evidence-based practice model that will reduce the likelihood of re-offense, and most importantly, inspire and build the positive potential of young people.
