Socially Accepted Practices & Traumatic Impact on Adolescents

Come join us for this very unique conversation, featuring Farm Sanctuary's Gene Baur, CSUF Faculty, Dr. Nicole Jafari and members of the local Fullerton community who are part of the upcoming documentary, "So Give Me An F". A presentation on the benefits of bringing compassion and mindfulness to our plates will be given by the extremely inspirational "conscience of the food movement", Gene Baur. A panel conversation will follow.

About Gene Baur:

Gene Baur has been hailed as “the conscience of the food movement” by Time magazine. For more than 25 years he has traveled extensively around the country, campaigning to raise awareness about the abuses of industrialized factory farming and our current food system. Read more about Gene.

About "So Give Me An F":

The documentary compares and contrasts schools with Future Farmers of America animal agriculture programs, (including a high school located in Fullerton), with educational settings based in empathy and compassion. A trailer for the yet to be released film will be screened and discussed. Gene Baur and Dr. Nicole Jafari both gave interviews for the film.

Event Description:

This event will address the correlation between making healthy food choices and the impact on the human psyche. It will include a progressive discussion on the impact of nutrition, health mindfulness, and raising children with compassion and environmental cognizance. In addition, a reference to the impact of Future Farmers of America (FFA) animal agriculture program and its influence on adolescents’ development.

Parking:

Parking is available on adjacent streets or parking meters available to purchase ticket and park on campus 
(be aware of faculty-only designated parking areas, the sign will indicate whether it's general or faculty designated).
