Fall Mental Health Hacks

Find ways to stay active, despite the rainy days. Local gyms often have sign up deals this time of year, and some insurances will pay for part of (or all) of your gym fee. Going on a hike with friends is a great way to get active and enjoy some of our amazing nature here in Oregon.

Take the time to embrace the slow down. As the seasons change, reassess what is important to you. If something is stressing you out, this is a wonderful season to take stock of what your priorities are. By doing less, we can focus more on the things that truly matter.

Feeling lonely? Call, visit, or text a friend. Chances are, your friend/neighbor/acquaintance will be glad you reached out. Fostering our sense of community has massive mental health benefits.

The Recovery Outreach Community Center (ROCC) here in Salem offers many groups to learn about different things from recovery groups, peer support, and did I mention they have a pool? You can learn more at their website: http://www.roccsalem.org/. They also have a monthly activity calendar so you can look for an activity that you're interested in.

Happy fall, y'all!
