Below is a link to BRFSS (Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, a CDC annual survey) ACEs data. States get to choose what data is included, and Virginia will be including ACEs data starting in January 2017. A colleague of mine -- here in New Zealand!! -- recently passed the attached PDF, from Scotland, onto me. It concerns a relatively recent, and still developing, proposed trauma training framework. This might be helpful to others wishing to go further in introducing TIC in their own services. It includes a consideration of ACEs. Virginia statewide Trauma-Informed Community Networks
On 9.19.17, the Greater Richmond TICN convened a statewide meeting for Trauma-Informed Community Networks in Virginia. There are currently nine TICNs at various stages of development. Summaries from six of these networks (Fairfax, Greater Charlottesville, Greater Piedmont, Greater Richmond, Harrison burg & Southside) are in the attached document. We are SUPER excited to be connected with so many amazing people who are working to build a more resilient Virginia.

Greater Richmond Trauma Informed Community Network, first to join ACEs Cooperative of Communities, shows what it means to ROCK!
In 2012, Greater Richmond SCAN and five other community partners hatched a one-year plan to educate the Richmond, Virginia, community about ACEs science and to embed trauma-informed practices. Eight years later, the original group has evolved into the Greater Richmond Trauma-Informed Community Network (GRTICN) with 495 people and 170 organizations. And they're just scratching the surface.
