July 2 - July 8, 2017 is Substance Exposed Infant (SEI) Awareness Week. Approximately 100,000 babies are born in Virginia every year and, according to national estimates, about 10,000 of them are substance exposed in utero. A colleague of mine -- here in New Zealand!! -- recently passed the attached PDF, from Scotland, onto me. It concerns a relatively recent, and still developing, proposed trauma training framework. This might be helpful to others wishing to go further in introducing TIC in their own services. It includes a consideration of ACEs.
