Resilience Screenings in Alabama

The Alabama Department of Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention purchased the rights to provide screenings of Resilience throughout the state in 2017.  Resilience is an hour-long documentary illuminating the science of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and the birth of a new movement to treat and prevent toxic stress. View the trailer below.

In the last year, we've provided over 30 screenings for 1,500 attendees. Check out the community tracker on our page to find out more about our past screenings. The screenings has been very impactful in educating communities about ACEs and strategies for building resilience. In particular, we facilitate a discussion following the film to inspire a call-to-action, which includes panel discussions composed of key stakeholders from the community for larger audiences. During the panel discussions, we'll have representatives from public health, education, social services, law enforcement etc. to discuss community resources and next steps for the community moving forward.

If you’re interested in requesting a screening of Resilience for your organization in Alabama, please contact Bailey Waller by email at bailey.waller@ctf.alabama.gov or by phone at 334-262-2951.

Bailey, this wonderful work.

Thank you and congratulations.

I’m hoping you’ll wear out the DVD, and that interest in preventing and healing childhood trauma turns into more and more action steps of resilience building in Alabama and beyond!

It is great to work with you.

C.
