PACEs Connection Cooperative of Communities

This month's Cooperative of Communities Think Tank will feature Dr. Wendy Samford, speaker, author, and advocate for Handle with Care!

Wendy Samford, PhD, is a consultant for the Florida Handle With Care (HWC) program, and will be sharing her passion and understanding of this program with the PACEs Connection Cooperative of Communities today at 10 a.m. PT/ 1 ET.

HWC is simple. If the police are called to a home, and there are children present, they send a notice that says Handle With Care to the school so that the school personnel are aware that something traumatic happened to that child and to treat them accordingly. Being involved in this program has prompted my newest book, due out later this year, "How to Handle With Care," which answers the question of how to implement HWC in your school, precinct, county, or state.

Interviews from people all over the U.S. offer guided information on program implementation. Look for this book later this year, and feel free to check out this amazing program for kids at www.handlewithcarewv.org. The HWC program is one step toward creating trauma-informed communities, and Wendy is proud to assist in moving this program forward nationwide.

Online: Monthly Cooperative of Communities Member meeting.

When: Second Tuesday of every month from 10 am PT/12 pm CT/1 pm ET to 12 pm PT/2 pm CT/2 pm ET
