Has anyone researched or seen research on the ACE scores of educators (or doctors for that matter). We are doing to do a sampling but will be unable to release the data due to confidentiality issues, but would like to have some similar information to share on an HHS collaborative regarding ACEs and the opioid and obesity epidemics, poverty and the like. Hello- I am wondering if anyone has any resources for curriculum or lesson plans targeting 13-18 year old adolescents that have experienced trauma. The goal is to teach them about potential trauma triggers, trauma reactions, what trauma is, resiliency, and personal wellness. There is a lot of information on these topics geared towards educating providers, but nothing for the kids who have experienced the trauma. Thanks! -erin

I am curious to know how members of the group are seeing trauma-informed care being implemented in local/state education agencies or even private education/community support agencies that look at collective impact. Particularly, in addition to reading/math strategies, technology, curricula-- as observed in your work--which improvement content/strategies/competencies are emphasized by local/state education agencies with high federal programs funding/high utilization of free-reduced lunch?

A Connecticut court is looking at the disparity in education between districts located in impoverished communities and those located in communities of higher means. The court is not specifically addressing ACEs, but addressing issues of poverty, could open the doors to increasing opportunities to build resilience. Erin, I would suggest you consult with the child's trauma therapist. Any child that has a trauma history should (and would greatly benefit) from having a "Trauma Trigger Management Plan." Avoiding triggers creates a fine line to walk. In a classroom setting - I think it's very important to avoid triggers - in a personal confidential and therapeutic setting - where a child may want help processing a trigger - is a different scenario but should only be addressed by a team working with that...

We are not mandated however to utilize but I do integrate this workbook with other materials which target other relevant topics for my populations. I recently provided my campus a brief training on Trauma and Learning. As part of this training I included information about ACEs, gave teachers the ACEs questionnaire and discussed how our own ACEs score can affect teaching/teaching styles and how educators relate to their students as well as other faculty members. My final question for them "What ACEs score do you bring into the classroom?"

I'm reaching out to see if anyone would like to participate in a pilot study looking to improve emotional wellbeing for educators through an evidence-based toolkit that includes improving social / emotional wellness and mental health literacy outcomes. It's great to have such resources. Nobody envy teachers. This is a very difficult job. It is not easy for students either, of course, what are the efforts to write a residency statement It only seems at first glance that this is a simple written document, but in reality it is not. Therefore, in my opinion, students also need such resources to improve their emotional state.
