Strengthening Families Webinar: Parent Nation

Strengthening Families Webinar: Parent Nation
Join the Center for the Study of Social Policy (CSSP) on Thursday, April 14, from 3:00-4:30 ET, for a conversation with Dr. Dana Suskind about the importance of building a parent nation – that is, a society that shares in the responsibility of raising children. Dr. Suskind will discuss the ideas and recommendations at the heart of her forthcoming book, Parent Nation: Unlocking Every Child’s Potential, Fulfilling Society’s Promise. Yolie Flores, Parent Nation Campaign Director, will discuss how we can all become involved in the Building a Parent Nation campaign.
We’ll also hear from a panel of parents and professionals from the Strengthening Families National Network about the potential to reach more families with an important message about their roles as teachers, leaders, and advocates; the systemic and policy changes that would benefit the health and well-being of our nation’s youngest children; and how they might use Parent Nation to support their Strengthening Families efforts.
Thanks to the generosity of Hearing First, an educational endeavor of the Oberkotter Foundation, the first 100 people to register for the webinar will receive a free copy of Dr. Suskind’s forthcoming book, Parent Nation, upon its release later in April. (You will need to fill out another form to request the book, linked from the webinar registration page which will be available until 100 books have been claimed.)
Note that this is a 90-minute webinar, longer than our usual time, to allow for a rich panel discussion and time for your questions and comments.
