Building Bridges to an Equitable Future: Strength and Resilience in Public Health

Our signature event brings together professionals from across the state to learn, connect, and celebrate the dedication of our community to improving the public’s health. With a mix of workshops, breakout sessions, and social events, our conference offers a unique opportunity to connect with peers who share your commitment to public health and the chance to gain valuable skills and knowledge to use in your daily work.

COMMUNICABLE DISEASE & OTHER HEALTH THREATS
Prevention; early detection; infectious disease; emergency preparedness and swift response; preparedness activities involving communities at greater risk

HEALTH ACROSS THE LIFESPAN
Prevention of chronic illness and injury across the lifespan, from preconception through aging; promoting health starts and preventing adverse childhood experiences

BUILDING COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP
Private and public sector partnering to move communities toward change; leadership development to build a more diverse and inclusive community team to address public health issues; boards of health and oversight; community-based participatory research in which all partners contribute expertise and share decision-making and ownership

ENVIRONMENTAL PUBLIC HEALTH
Community design solutions to improve access and health outcomes; sustainable environmental and policy changes to create equitable communities and healthier families; balancing health equity and regulatory requirements; linkages to climate change and its impact on public health

HEALTH SYSTEM TRANSFORMATION
Evidence-based preventive services; patient-centered medical/health home; community clinical linkages; care coordination; electronic health/medical records access, utilization, and integration; new models of care and innovative practices; Accountable Communities of Health strategies

COMMUNITY HEALTH PLANNING & EVALUATION
Data analysis; community health assessments; action plans (CHIP); quality improvement and quality planning projects; accreditation efforts

POLICY & COMMUNICATION
Influencing local, state and federal public health policy to positively impact communities, especially those with a disproportionate burden of disease; storytelling; marketing, messaging and effective social media tools to reach audiences from various ethnic, cultural, and language backgrounds

POPULATION HEALTH EQUITY
Public health approaches to address health inequities and disparities experienced by diverse populations, which include but not limited to, American Indian/Alaska Native, Latinx, African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, LGBTQ, and refugee populations
