Willipa Behavioral Health to Open a Trauma-Focused Residential Treatment Facility

From Adam Marquis, MBA, ACHE, LSSBBP, AAC,
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Willapa Behavioral Health

Willipa Behavioral Health (WBH) is planning to purchase and open the former “Klean Building” on 211 Pioneer Ave. West in Long Beach in Summer/Fall 2020 to open a 54-bed Trauma-Focused Residential Treatment Facility (TF-RTF) likely to include a Brain Institute as we focus on healing the brain!  Latest neuroscience points to the need to healing the brain and not treating symptoms and WBH endeavors to reach that end for whole person health of our clients!

Here is the link for our project at https://www.willapabh.org/last-resort-project

The plan is to operate a 16-bed wing as Secure Detox and Withdrawal Management, one wing for females and one wing for males who identify as such, on the other two wings.  Medicaid, commercial insurance and private pay will be the payer mix.  All 54 beds will be licensed for SUD up to ASAM 4.0 level of care, and some beds will be doubly licensed for Mental Health likely 8 for female and 8 for males, and some beds will be triple licensed for Crisis Stabilization (2 male and two female) so that we meet the needs of our communities served.

The longer term goal will be to stand up Sober Living complex on the property as well as workforce housing for Southern Pacific County.  The long term goal will be to also stand up a Sober Living complex as well as workforce housing in the Raymond/South Bend area of North Pacific County.  This will meet our need for transitioning from the Residential Treatment Facility to a less intensive level of residential service to help with keeping clients sober and in recovery.

At the TF-RTF we will use EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, CBT and DBT for treatment modalities.

This project will certainly carry WBH through 2020 changes with healthcare and beyond!

This will be a community-based, locally owned, locally-governed facility as is WBH and we welcome you to continue partnering with us as we collectively work to address all the level of care needs of the clients we serve together!
