Reimagining Resilience online - Thursdays, November 3 & 10 from 4:30 - 6:30pm

"Game changing. Strategies that I know will improve my practice & improve the experience that students have at school."

“I’m Safe. I Belong. I Matter.” This is the way every child needs to feel in order to learn. How can you, as an adult who works with youth, help them experience emotional safety? Especially when our own nervous systems are overwhelmed.

In our online, interactive Reimagining Resilience workshop, we cover the three R’s critical in building positive relationships with kids, showing how children need to feel safe (Regulate) and connected (Relate) to learn new social skills (Reason).

Register.

In community with other educators, youth workers and caretakers, we will share practical information, activities, and conversation. By the end of the afternoon, you will be ready to:

• Explain the impact of trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES), and the resulting youth behaviors that challenge adults

• Adjust your own behavior to build more connected relationships with kids

• Become a buffering adult who helps youth navigate toxic stress and develop their own resilience

• Invite conversations with colleagues about the impact of trauma, and move towards building awareness and shared understanding

• Learn practical activities and tools you can use in your own classrooms or other settings where you work with children and youth

• Gain tools to build your own capacity to self-regulate and calm your own nervous system

This is an online course offered over two 2-hour sessions - Thursdays, November 3 & 10 from 4:30 - 6:30pm (PDT). In addition, there are short videos that will be sent to registrants before each class.

Clock hours are available through OSPI for Washington state. Click hereto fill out the form to receive clock hours at no additional cost.

The program fee of $95 includes the cost includes pre-class videos, a course workbook, and connection to peers who share your interest in helping all kids thrive. After the workshop, participants will have access to the workshop recording for two months.
