We are advocates, trauma survivors, concerned community members, and professionals who share information and develop practical solutions, to support the Washington, DC metro area to become trauma-informed, address sources of adversity, and promote health and resilience.

Supporting Court-Involved Youth in the District of Columbia: A Twitter Chat for Youth Justice Awareness Month 


Tuesday, October 27, 12 - 1 pm ET

President Obama proclaimed October Youth Justice Awareness Month. In honor of #YJAM, the Trauma Informed DC Initiative has partnered with Children’s Law Center and DC Lawyers for Youth to host a Twitter chat on promising approaches to supporting court-involved youth and families in the District of Columbia. 
 
Discussion topics to include:

  • Trauma-informed approaches
  • Literacy and arts programs
  • Dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline
  • Entrepreneurship & employment 
  • Promising directions for advocacy

Use the hashtags #YJAM and #YJAMDC to participate. Trauma Informed DC Initiative (@traumafreedc) will moderate the chat.
