Opposing views of Rep. Tim Murphy’s Helping Families In Mental Health Crisis Act are expressed on Pete Earley’s (mental health advocate and author of Crazy) website: Leah Harris presented her arguments against the bill on Nov. 10 and D.J. Jaffe made the case for the bill on Nov. 12. A subcommittee markup on the bill was held November 4. The new Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan (R-WI), supports the bill but other Republicans are raising concerns.
