The California Department of Social Services (CDSS), Office of Child Abuse Prevention (OCAP) has partnered with the Chadwick Center for Children and Families at Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego to launch the Advancing California’s Trauma-Informed Systems (ACTS) project.

Designed for child welfare systems, the ACTS Project includes opportunities for:

  • In-depth resource sharing through the ACTS project’s TIC toolkit
  • Workforce and leader-focused trainings on different aspects of TIC
  • Time-limited Technical Assistance on TIC implementation and sustainment
  • Identification by CDSS as a TIC “advancing system” or organization
  • Joining the state-wide California Network of Advancers in TIC

ACTS Project

The ACTS project has partnered with six county systems: Los Angeles Department of Children & Family Services, San Diego County Child Welfare Services, Santa Barbara County Department of Social Services, Tehama County Social Services, Tulare County Health & Human Services, and Tuolumne County Department of Social Services. Beginning in October, ACTS will begin their second round of child-welfare partnerships. They are currently looking for child welfare county partners with motivation and capacity to engage in change practices dedicated to advancing trauma-informed care in their system.
