Hi, Everyone:

Here’s the state profile for Alaska. To review the entire profile, open the PDF that is attached to this post.

If you have corrections or additions, please leave them in the comments section of this post. We’ll be reviewing the comments regularly and doing fact-checks. The information you give us will also help us determine how to organize and expand the information in the state profiles.

We will be turning this post into a living profile that, with your help and input, we’ll keep updating over time. If you have ideas about other categories we should add, please let us know. And we’ll also make sure that we keep you informed about updates.

Thank you for this state profile, and for all your work.
I have an edit suggestion for this paragraph: "The Southern Kenai Resilience Coalition in Homer has hosted workshops and screenings of the documentaries, Paper Tigers and Resilience, and educated teens about ACEs science, who developed teen-appropriate presentations for high school and middle school students. ROCK Mat-Su in Matanuska-Susitna Borough has hosted ACEs science workshops, and is involved in helping local schools become trauma-informed."

"The Southern Kenai Peninsula Resilience Coalition in Homer has hosted workshops and screenings of the documentaries, Paper Tigers and Resilience. They partnered with Kachemak Bay Family Planning Clinic's Homer Peer Education Team in educating teens about resilience/tough times within the context of ACEs science. During this process, the Homer Peer Education team worked with Prevention staff at South Peninsula Haven House in developing teen-appropriate presentations for high school and middle school students"

Thank you!

Hi Morgan,

Thanks for your team's hard work on creating these profiles! A quick note-- the coalition that I coordinate is the Southern Kenai Peninsula Resilience Coalition. In addition to the activities noted in the profile, we also partnered with R.O.C.K. Mat-Su to host a year-long Trauma-Informed Care initiative with local service providers.

Thanks!

Amy
