Building Relationships to Support Families in Times of Stress
You are invited to participate in the Sonoma County Early Childhood Mental Health Summit!
This is an exciting opportunity to learn and network with others working, caring and advocating for children prenatally to 5 years and their families.
Speakers will discuss the importance of early relationships in the promoting early brain development as well as social emotional, communication and cognitive skills. Speakers from a wide variety of disciplines including education, mental health, substance abuse and addiction, occupational therapy, home visitation and medical field will engage participants in exploring the impact of early childhood adversity and how to support families in building resiliency. Resources to further support families will also be provided.
Learning objectives:
During the summit, participants will:
1- Expand their understanding of Early Childhood mental Health as the capacity to form close relationships, manage and express emotions and explore the environment and learn.
2- Understand the importance of early relationships in promoting optimal brain development paving the way for social emotional, cognitive skills and communication throughout the lifetime.
3- Building additional skills to support young children and their families in healing from trauma and building resilience.
