Peacetown Wrap up- Elizabeth Smith is a board member and founder of Family Village. Peacetown is a non-profit that is organized and operated to promote peace, educate in the ways of peace, raise funds for peaceful events, and build a community of peace activists. The Family Village is a way to bring families together and connect them with the community by promoting the Protective Factors(Parental Resilience, Social/Emotional Competence of Children, Social Connections, Knowledge of Parenting & Child Development, Concrete Support in Times of Need). During a FREE 12 week summer concert series that Peacetown puts on yearly, this year held in Sebastopol’s Barlow, the Family Village sets a space aside for families. Over 25 organizations took part in setting up a booth, some came every week. The booths had family engagement activities and resources were provided. Many organizations are members of SCAC. This provided an opportunity to connect, raise awareness, and meet families where they were. A HUGE thank you to all those that supported this effort. To learn more about the Family Village you can watch the super fun videos Elizabeth made: https://youtube.com/playlist?l...DbCyYvgKvpFOk8891YGI and visit www.peacetown.org

SCAC Social- Great conversation, great food, and wonderful gathering together. Looking to schedule another this fall.

Campaign for Trauma Informed Policy & Practice (CTIPP)- An absolute pleasure and honor to have Jesse Kohler the Executive Director of CTIPP join us and share how Sonoma County can strengthen advocacy efforts around advocacy for Trauma Informed policy and practices. Jesse shared examples of how other communities are using the American Rescue act on a local level, how communities are using Trauma Informed Policies and Practices outside of the county structures, and clear next steps on what Sonoma County can do to move forward. Jesse expressed how important it is to advocate to the elected officials. Jesse shared that you can join this nationwide grassroots campaign to engage congressional offices and other federal leaders in supporting policies, programs, legislation, and appropriations that prevent and respond to childhood trauma and build resilience:
