Lifeworks Sonoma County and Elizabeth Smith come together to bring Awareness for World Suicide Prevention Day

This message was sent on social media platforms Tik Tok (I had to download the app), Instagram, and Facebook through Lifeworks Sonoma County to bring a voice to someone with lived experiences, giving me a seat at the table to be heard.
Sept. 10 is World Suicide Prevention Day. Elizabeth Smith, LifeWorks volunteer, and community advocate for suicide awareness and prevention, shares the importance of having open conversations about the often-avoided topic of suicide.
By having these conversations, we can create more inclusive, supportive communities and break the stigmas surrounding this topic.
We encourage you to collaborate on this message by using the #outofthedarkness hashtag or commenting to share how others have been a support to you when you were struggling with your mental health.
You’re not alone. If you or someone you know is having a hard time, help is available. Calling or texting 988 or chatting 988Lifeline.org will connect you to compassionate care and support for mental health-related distress. #988Lifeline
