In addition to needs assessment proposal updates, and breakout groups to foster connections we’re excited to share with you the following presentations:

Family Healer TV

Ron Huxley, LMFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist with 30 years’ experience. He is the former director of the Central Coast Seneca Family of Agencies, founder of the TraumaToolbox.com, FamilyHealer.tv, and author of Love and Limits: Achieving a Balance in Parenting. Ron will be providing an overview of the Trauma-Informed Care services and trainings he provides.

Herencia Indigena

Herencia IndΓ­gena was founded with the goal of increasing access to health services by bridging the gap between Mixteco-speaking patients and healthcare providers. In the last couple of years, Herencia IndΓ­gena has created jobs designated to introduce trilingual interpreters to the healthcare workforce. Last year (2022) their team advocated and interpreted for over 17,000 appointments across the central coast. Irebid Gilbert and Judith Sanchez presentation will touch on language history, traditions, and beliefs that come with indigenous communities to improve rapport between staff and the community.
