This 4-part series is designed to build leadership capacity to improve outcomes for children and families in the SoCal region. Join us for the first convening in October and participate in this innovative peer learning experience, hear from topic experts and connect with colleagues in the SoCal region.

An Equitable Vision for Children & Families. Presented by the UCLA Center for Healthier Children, Families and Communities   

Learn about cutting edge technology that examines risk factors in communities. Explore an integrated approach that combines data from science, topographical studies and social conditions to understand outcomes for children. Understand how to use data to help communities harness their potential for well-being.   
 
A Framework for the Prevention of Child Maltreatment. 
Increase your understanding of how primary, secondary and tertiary child abuse prevention programs are defined. Begin mapping the child abuse prevention programs in your community and discuss how to prevent abuse and trauma in the design stages of not just programs, but neighborhood development, city planning and community livability. 

Who should participate?
This Learning Community series is intended for existing and emerging leaders in the child abuse prevention and family strengthening field. We recommend that someone from your organization attends each of one of the 4 Learning Community convenings.
And we encourage you to participate in partnership with someone from your organization. For example:

  • Two or more members of leadership in your organization
  • A supervisor/manager with staff
  • Family Resource Center program managers
  • Board Member and Executive Director
  • Members of a County Prevention Planning Team
  • Community Collaborative participants
