Madelyn Helling Library in the Gene Albaugh Community Room

From YubaNet.com:

The public is invited to attend the Community Support Network Partner meeting on Wednesday, April 5th at 3:30 p.m. The topic will be “ACE & Resilience – from Adverse Childhood Experiences to Confident, Creative Adulthood.”

The featured speaker will be poet Molly Fisk who will share about her personal journey in this arena. In another meeting segment, Meg Luce, LMFT, will guide attendees in taking the ACE test, explain what it means, and share local resources for people who may wish to know of them.

Molly Fisk has just been named Nevada County’s first Poet Laureate in the new Nevada County Poet Laureate program, an initiative of the Nevada County Arts Council in collaboration with the Nevada County Board of Supervisors. Molly is also a radio commentator, life coach, writing, teacher, and public speaker. As an adult, she has been willing and able to tell of her own adverse childhood experiences, and she is a living example of how beautiful and creative life can become in spite of them. Molly writes, “All my work is aimed at getting to the heart of who I am. That’s what I want for you, too. A distillation or paring away until you reach your essence.” More about Molly at www.mollyfisk.com

Meg Luce, MS, LMFT is a psychotherapist who provides relationship counseling services for individuals, couples, and parents, including those who have suffered from trauma. She teaches the Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) and Circle of Security Parenting for the PARTNERS Family Resource Centers and Nevada County Schools, and has been a featured CSN presenter in the past. All are invited to wear blue or and/or a blue ribbon pin to the meeting to acknowledge April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. We will have free pins at the meeting.
