Join a panel of esteemed health care heroes on the front lines of this pandemic for a discussion on the entrenched inequities in our health systems, the science behind the development of the COVID-19 vaccines, and the medical community’s role in building trust with communities of color.

Kupiri Ackerman-Barger, PhD, RN, CNE, FAAN
Associate dean and associate clinical professor at the UC Davis Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. She is nationally recognized for pioneering teaching techniques that transcend cultural boundaries that cross urban-rural divide.
David Tom Cooke, MD, FACS
Chief, Division of General Thoracic Surgery at UC Davis Health. A longtime advocate of health equity and inclusive medical research, Dr. Cooke participated in the clinical trial for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
Anthony Iton, MD, JD, MPH
(Moderator) Senior Vice President of Healthy Communities at The California Endowment. Prior to his appointment at The Endowment, Dr. Iton served as Health Officer for the Alameda County Public Health Department.
Zola Afua Mansa Chihombori Quao, MD
Third year Resident, Dual-Board Family Medicine and Psychiatry Program at UC Davis. Dr. Chihombori Quao treats patients in numerous medical and mental health care settings and is active in the UC Davis’ Resident Union and Black Resident Organization. She also serves as a medical consultant for the Civil Rights Clinic at UC Davis School of Law.
