3 Realms of ACEs Handout

3 Realms of ACEs was created by ACEs Connection with inspiration and guidance from Building Community Resilience Collaborative and Networks and the International Transformational Resilience Coalition. The ACEs in these three realms - household, community, and environment - intertwine throughout people’s lives, and affect the viability of families, communities, organizations, and systems. The handout also covers five important findings from the ACEs study. Download the pdf in the attachments below. This flyer can be downloaded, distributed, and used freely.

Here's one side of the updated version, which includes pandemic. The previous version has structural racism. We'll be adding an updated second page soon. It focuses on PCEs -- positive childhood experiences in these realms.

This graphic does a great job depicting the 3 realms. I am a master clinical traumatologist with Green Cross Academy of Traumatology (GCAT) and we primarily deal with realm 3. Many researchers and clinicians forget realm 3 and the contributions of CISM, emergency management, crisis, disaster, and catastrophe modalities.

I'd offer this printable brochure from ACEP's Humanitarian Committee; you can also order it from the site in good, coated card-stock form, for a small donation and postage. This works for parents, community, outreach, etc. and is designed to be a TIC somatic intervention that can be used by anyone. In addition, we have developed an outreach powerpoint that folks can request a brief training for, in order to be able to confidently give their community or institution an introduction to TIC and ACEs, long with an experiential use of the techniques. Last not least, the site also has tutorials and videos that can be used by anyone to rapidly relieve stress, in the moment. www.R4R.support
