Welcome to Placer County ACEs Connection!

Welcome to the Placer County ACEs Connection page! Did you know that over 40 percent of Placer County residents report experiencing 2 or more Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)(Ryan-Ibarra, S., et. al., 2012)? A diverse group of community partners, including the County of Placer Mental Health Services Act, Coalition for Auburn and Lincoln Youth, Placer County First 5, Placer County Office of Education, Children’s System of Care, Mental Health Alcohol and Drug Board, Probation Department, KidsFirst, Stand Up Placer, Latino Leadership Council, and the Youth Empowerment Support Program have come together to help Placer County be more resilient! Our goals are to:

  • Raise awareness about the prevalence of ACEs in our community
  • Increase trauma sensitive practices and policies in schools, agencies, and other organizations serving adults, children, and families
  • Foster inter-agency collaboration to better serve clients in common
  • Reduce barriers to high quality clinical, educational, health, and support services for residents who have experienced trauma and mental health needs

We invite you to take a tour of our page! Use it to find resources for trauma trainings; connect with trauma-informed services in our community; ask a question about ACEs; or post an interesting article about trauma-informed best practices. Please reach out to us if we can help you navigate our page. We look forward to working together to create a more #PLACEResilient!
