Coping with Grief and Loss as Adults

Wednesday, June 23, 1:00 – 2:30 pm EDT

As providers, and as adults, we also grapple with loss & trauma such as those experienced in the last year.

This session will focus entirely on us as adults, with both death and non-death losses, including losses from the pandemic - loss of in-person work, loss of “normalcy,” and the impact of deaths on us (this does not focus on supporting others), how we remember and memorialize those who have died or those who we miss, etc.

Facilitator:

Katherine Streit, MSW, LSW, M.S.Ed, will facilitate this session. Katherine is the Training Coordinator at Uplift Center for Grieving Children. The Uplift Center supports youth grieving a death to heal and grow through their grief, while strengthening families, communities, and professionals’ understanding of how best to respond to their needs. Uplift believes that supporting a whole child involves equipping the adults in youth’s environments with skills and tools to respond effectively to their needs and prevent further challenges.

About this Resiliency Series:

This series is specially designed for workplaces and community members who through their work are involved with those affected by the substance use crisis in Philadelphia. This Virtual Resilience series is designed to support our community as it does its work and to help everyone take care of themselves. All times listed are in Eastern Time (EDT)

Funded in part by the Philadelphia Department of Public Health
