Oprah has the ability to lead a major cultural shift in consciousness about trauma and resilience--something that many of us have been working on for the past few years--thanks to Drs Felliti, Anda and Burke-Harris and many others and Jane Stevens and her crew at ACESTOOHIGH and ACESCONNECTION. And I would add an emphasis on building resilience over the life span and a focus on an integrative/functional medical (wellness) model as a primary prevention approach to physical, mental and social health.

In 2012, Greater Richmond SCAN and five other community partners hatched a one-year plan to educate the Richmond, Virginia, community about ACEs science and to embed trauma-informed practices. Eight years later, the original group has evolved into the Greater Richmond Trauma-Informed Community Network (GRTICN) with 495 people and 170 organizations. And they're just scratching the surface.
