Introductions of those present: Andi Clements Becky Haas Robin Crumley Tara Chadwell Nicole Moore Ginger Bastian Judy McCook Eric Myers Jamie Sell Audra Mile Heather Bracken

Becky welcomed those in attendance and reviewed what trauma informed care is, why system of care, systems that exist and partners.

 

Committee Reports:

  • Join the Coalition: all encouraged to join and invite others to the meetings
  • Resource Development Team- Nicole update- develop website page- several states researched on TIC- Scholastic book-TIC partner to review- want to develop resource list 2013moorenr@msha.com">–moorenr@msha.com
  • Trauma Informed System of Care Coalition Scribe: Robin with Eric as backup
  • ACEs Too High Correspondent: page sign up—we want to create our own page- Tara & Heather to help- partners to let team know if any information cannot be shared
  • Training: 7 meetings from Aug 23-Oct 18th – sites for FTHRA, College of Medicine, Boys & Girls Club of Tennessee,
  • Pilot Program/Grant Writing/Research: Andi reported on the Trauma Informed Pilot Program- Building Strong Brains and Strong Families- grant received till June 2017 --potential 4 more years—Ginger introduced as research assistant—summary of grant- TIC training for staff, volunteers, parents/guardians, etc. for imperial study to see or quantify short term or long term affects

 

Meeting Topics/Announcements:

  • Judy McCook- spent one week in Colorado training “Sain” preceptor for trauma—“Start by believing”—sexual violence
  • Audra presented Safe Families- voluntary placement (host site) for families in crisis- working with faith base community – 5 families and 13 kids hosted so far—referrals from DCS
  • Andi- more invites to speak at community—“A Safe Harbour”- resource
  • Judy-Glad Public safety at ETSU wants to be involved in TIC efforts
  • Tara- signed up for TIC train the trainer, upper leadership at Niswonger on board
  • Ginger- started Monday
  • Heather- navigating processes with groups at her site and starting to obtain feedback from partners, will attend Train the Trainer
  • Robin- working on Pilot Program grant activities, quiet room, electrician, computers, input from kids and staff, signed up for Train the Trainer
  • Eric- conduit to churches and nonprofits- would like to see more communication on outcomes of referrals
  • Audra- signed up for Train the Trainer

  • Oct 29th- Scarecrow Skedaddle- ETSU
  • Nov 2nd- Partner Meeting
  • Nov 29th- 8:30-4pm- Train the Trainer- 40 almost full
  • Dec 14 at 10am – Continuum of Care JCPD- bring your updates to group
  • 2017--March 30th- Mother Child Symposium- ETSU Nursing – 8-5pm Millennium
