...Inspired by the critically acclaimed documentary “Paper Tigers,” in which Lincoln High School changed its disciplinary procedures by taking a more hands-on, compassionate approach, Riden-Bacon said the Topper Academy’s new approach to alternative education has already had dramatic results. 

With attendance going up from 50 percent to 88 percent and students recovering a total of 196 credit hours less than three months into the 2017-18 school year, she said the student body and staff “have been regenerated.”
