FEMA extends transitional shelter assistance to Dec 7th

FEMA is extending its temporary housing assistance program for Northern California fire victims. Officials said yesterday that through December 7th FEMA's Transitional Shelter Assistance program will continue to pay the hotel and motel bills for people who cannot return to their homes. The agency covers the cost of the room and taxes, but not incidental room charges or amenities, for people displaced in eight counties: including Sonoma, Napa, Lake and Mendocino. According to FEMA, over 37-hundred people have applied for assistance, including the housing program, and approved at a cost of nearly nine-million dollars.   Read more here: FEMA extends temporary housing assistance program
