It Takes All of Us.

It takes all of us.  Thanks to Wave Transit who provided critical transportation services before and after the storm.  The information below comes from the WAVE Transit Facebook page.

"Before and after the storm Wave Transit was responsible for providing emergency transportation to residents of New Hanover County. We transported our neighbors to emergency shelters in Wilmington, Raleigh, Winston Salem, and Chapel Hill. We drove local evacuees from shelters to dialysis appointments, pharmacies to get medicine, and to the hospital for treatment. Our vehicles provided the means for nurses to get to patients at the special needs medical shelter at Codington Elementary School in Wilmington. We moved medical equipment, oxygen, and medical supplies. We also transported Red Cross workers and National Guardsmen so they could help our community recover.

This photo shows our bus convoy bringing evacuees back to Wilmington from the out of county emergency shelters. We are proud to have been an integral part of keeping our community safe before, during, and after hurricane Florence. Thank you to our dedicated staff for putting in the long hours to serve this community."
