CRM Trainings Underway!

On the 27th and 28th of November, 60 individuals representing a variety of systems and services across New Hanover County were trained in a one-day training of the Community Resiliency Model (CRM).  Lauren Clark and Jesse Hardin of Community Care of the Lower Cape Fear conducted the training that was funded by SEAHEC and Smart Start of New Hanover County.  Carousel Center provided refreshments and lunch for the groups.

The goal is for 30 of those receiving this one day training to move on to become trainers in the model in 2019.  A training provided by the Trauma Resource Institute is scheduled for January of 2019.

New Hanover County Schools and Communities in Schools wrote a grant in August which was funded to pay for 25 of the "Train-the-Trainers."  An additional five trainees will be funded by Smart Start of New Hanover County to train those who interact with the early childhood system.  Trainers will reach out to their communities and schools to provide the training to their peers in the coming months.  Stay tuned for more information about where and when these trainings will take place!
